Who
are NARTA Inc. and the “NARTA Accreditation Advisory Group”?
NARTA
Inc. is an association established to raise standards in the
accommodation, recreation and tourism sectors that primarily deal with
the outdoors and group experiences by providing an accreditation
package that allows operators to gauge their compliance with industry
and public expectations. The
Accreditation Advisory Group, which governs NARTA Inc., comprise (at
September 2009) two
representatives each from Christian Venues Association and ORIC.
They are responsible
for
the oversight and implementation of this program.
Christian Venues
Association
represents over 245 Group Residential Accommodation providers from all
States. With 25,000 beds and over 1,000,000 guests per annum Christian Venues
represents a significant proportion of the Group Accommodation
Industry
in Australia. Established in 1974, and with its link to over
3,500
operations worldwide, Christian Venues is keen to offer the industry a simple
yet effective Accreditation Scheme that allows for applicants to spend
more time on provision of legal, safe services and activities than
satisfying incomprehensible bureaucratic purposes.
The Outdoor
Recreation Industry Council of
NSW (ORIC)
represents the outdoor industry in NSW. ORIC developed from the
idea
of a group of operators, service providers and facility owners
who felt there was a need to establish the growing 'outdoor industry'
on a more professional level. Since that time the association has
developed rapidly and is now recognised nationally as the peak body for
outdoor recreation in NSW
